CONSIDERING A CLEANSE??

Considering a cleanse?!? I urge you to be brave and pursue it. And my prediction is it won’t be your last. No matter what you think your tolerance is, you can do it! You will most assuredly benefit from this feat! Just read about how I felt after my recent cleanse. Who wouldn’t want to feel this good? And a little addition to my last cleanse experience- I finally got pregnant after we had been trying for almost 9 months. With my cleanse, I also did a month-long elimination of gluten, dairy, + sugar, and I made sure Maca was part of my daily intake. [Maca is an incredible Peruvian superfood. It combats fatigue, boosts libido, & balances hormones. It is great for times of menstruation, trying to get pregnant, post-baby, menopause...]

I suggest doing a guided cleanse every six months. A juice cleanse; 1, 3, or 5 days. I promise you can do more than you think you can. I used to be a fan of the Master Cleanse. While lemons, cayenne,  + maple syrup are beneficial in detoxing our systems, there are so many more benefits from doing a juice cleanse. The taste factor being the main one for me. I’m also less hungry on a juice cleanse. And the best thing about doing a guided cleanse is the accountability + encouragement you receive. I need that more than anything. I also strongly urge anyone/everyone to get a colonic during a cleanse. Even if you are not doing a cleanse, this is a practice that is so tremendously beneficial to your body. Many carry years of waste in their bodies & that is how illness + disease begin. Following with a colonic, you will begin absorbing more nutrients from your food and your insides will simply function much more efficiently.
If a juice cleanse is the scariest thing you’ve ever imagined, the next best thing I suggest is a guided whole food-based cleanse. My favorite is CONSCIOUS CLEANSE. This cleanse is so gentle, you can do it while pregnant or breastfeeding. Jo + Jules will have you feeling incredible after their two week food-based cleanse.
If you are in the OKC area, it doesn’t get any better than the amazing cleanse Claire offers through VIDYA cleanse. She will give you so much information & encouragement leading up to your cleanse & following your cleanse. I have now done two with her, and had amazing results both times! Each time, I add another one of her tips to my daily regimen; last time I added dry-brushing + tongue cleaning & haven’t skipped a day since. I will forever do cleanses with her every six months. Even if you are not in the OKC area, Claire can guide you through the cleanse and you can make your own juices. You can also save money with this route. Contact her at claire@vidyacleanse.com to start working with her.

If you are on the West Coast in the LA area, I suggest doing the guided cleanse at Matthew Kenney in Santa Monica.

Prior to & following your juice cleanse, I strongly suggest using Meredith Baird’s book, EVERY DAY RAW DETOX, as a guide to adopting a healthy, detoxing every day lifestyle. This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. The photos are gorgeous & it is jam-packed with amazing recipes that will have you feeling like a million bucks. For anything you might be experiencing, this book is sure to have a remedy for it. You will not feel like you are depriving your body of food, but instead quickly learn how good you can feel while eating healthy + clean each day. For those that are coming off of major [sugar/caffeine/gluten] addictions, these eating habits might be more appealing after your cleanse. But believe me, you will soon be addicted to the new feeling of feeding your body with clean + energetic foods.

  • It would be so interesting to try! I’m scared that I would feel weak, my biggest problem with eating is that there are times my body skips the hunger feeling and just makes me sick with headache,I know then that I’ve waited to long between meals. I’m scared with juices I wouldn’t have enough energy for the days I’m out from home working, it’s 8am til 7pm long days. I should change many things but i slip to the bad habits easily!
