INSPIRATION ADVENTURE {okc museum of art}

I am always looking for inspiration, and an art museum is a staple jam of mine in getting that job done. I’ve been craving a visit to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, to see the photorealism exhibit they have up. I also love their permanent collection!

I knew Lennon would want to join, so we cruised to the museum after school. It was the perfect late afternoon adventure.

Although I have to get creative in how I gather inspiration while wrangling a toddler, I still feel so grateful to have him in tote now while exploring this world. Kids bring a special kind of curisoty + consciousness to our jaded adult minds. They are great to bring along when exploring! There’s a lot less quiet moments of stillness, but many more moments of joy while watching this little person [look at art] + talking to him about it the way my parents did with us.

After getting a good fill, we went to the museum shop. [I think this might be our favorite part about visiting museums. There's nothing cooler than museum shops. My very favorite one is the NYC-MOMA gift shop. I could spend hours + thousands of dollars in there.] I have been on hunt for some red frames since Lennon broke my 14 year-old-red beauties last year. These eyebobs almost went home with me.

How do you stay inspired? What are some adventures//ways through which you seek inspiration? If you have children, do you bring them or do you prefer on your solo time?

    while i love to have my moments to myself, i always bring the kids. it’s wonderful to expose them to the arts and so many different areas of life. and, as a bonus, we always hit the gift shops ;)

      I’m with you, girl- I love a sweet alone moment, but it’s so exciting to expose our kids to art!
